Hello! My name is Nicole Balian, and I am a graduate student and a Supplemental Instruction Leader in freshman composition at California State University, Northridge. I am currently earning my master’s degree in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. My intent with the creation of this website is to present samplings of carefully scaffolded lessons that can be utilized by educators teaching composition. This website had been created for educational purposes as part of the English Rhetoric and Composition graduate studies program at California State University, Northridge. This project has been created under the direction of Dr. Irene Clark, Professor of English, Director of Composition, and Director of the Master’s Option in Rhetoric and Composition at California State University, Northridge. The primary function of this website is to serve as a pedagogical space in which students, teacher candidates, and educators can gain access to lesson plans that meet CSUN’s stretch curriculum requirements for first-year university-level writing courses.
